Below is a Bestman's speech I delivered at my brother-in-law's (Matt) wedding

Hi, Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen

I’m very nervous about making this speech. In fact this is my first time today that I have stood up from a warm seat with pieces of paper in my hand.

For those of you who don’t know me my name is David Ketepa and I’m Matt’s best man. Well, I’m the best "he could get" or "who would agree to do it".

I would like to start by complimenting the bride on how amazing she looks this evening.
As for Matt, well what can I say, we tried our best.

Actually, I’ve known Matt and Sally for a little over two years and seeing them walking down the aisle give me a good feeling. It just reminds me to say what an honor it was today to be standing here as Matt’s best man.

A happy marriage is a matter of ‘give and take’. The husband gives and the wife takes or vise versa.

Always remember the 5 rings
The engagement ring, the wedding ring, the suffering, the torturing and the enduring
To help the course of true love run smoothly never forget those two very important words you must say every day.......
"Yes Dear."

So then, Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me immense pleasure, not to mention relief, to invite you all to stand and raise your glasses in a toast to Matt and Sally, the new Mr. and Mrs. Basner.
May your love be modern enough to service the times and old fashioned enough to last forever.

HERES TO LOVE, LAUGHTER, AND HAPPILY EVER AFTER,

Ladies and Gentlemen: Matt and Sally Basner

The wedding Party
