History at it's BEST

You might be wondering where the picture (click on the pic for a larger view) below was taken. But when you look closer, you will come to realize that this was one of those pictures taken during the inauguration of the first African-American president, Barack Obama - a son of a Kenyan immigrant and a white mother from Kansas.

Now you get the sense of why some of the 2 million-plus who braved the freaking cold winter who travelled from all over the great 50 states of America and others around the world to witness one of history's greatest moments. During that very moment, certain perspectives of life both in America and around the world had changed forever! Indeed an historic, moment!

I know you had your own thoughts going through your mind when you watched all these unfold infront of you (if you've been to Washington, DC) or glued to your TV screen during that moment. Like many others, I had my own thoughts. One of the lessons that I learnt from all these is that, sucess comes from most unlikely places when one starts from scraps.

Hi David.

You are correct in that analysis. Obama, from a broken family, who frequented Kenya during his youth days, slept in villages with his dads people, ate what they ate, lived in hawaii, like another pacific boy, went to a normal school, and today he is living in White House and the most powerful man in the world.

Any body can be like him. This is the lesson for most of us who come from poor and broken family and see ourselves as unfortunate. Obama shows us the LIGHT.
