Jungle Justice - Papua New Guinea

It is mind boggling to see that our natural resources are being exploited by foreigners. Foreigners see that Papua New Guinea is being run by corrupt leaders and that they can bribe anybody to do business here so long as they have the money. This is a sickening situation and needs immediate attention from the government.

Our population in the rural areas are illiterate and can easily be manipulated by foreigners - who have vast hidden motives and some may not even speak English at all. When we all resort to corruption and bribery, our natural resources will quickly vanish in a twinkle of an eye.

In Western Province, landowners are being manipulated by those in government with hidden agendas where nobody knows what's happening each day at all corners of Papua New Guinea.

The following video is mind boggling and will make you sick when you see this unfold right under the nose of the government of the independent state of Papua New Guinea. Click here to see the video.

Hi David,

I totally agree with your statement about foreigners exploiting PNG. There will come a time when the PNG people will look back and see how PNG was "sold out" by its own people.

I'm not sure the PNG Government can solve this (not the current one anyway) as they seem totally obsessed with "extraction" no matter what the costs. In fact the "extractors" are invite into PNG by your very leaders. And only a few benefit - least of all the landowners themselves. MOA's and MOU's are a farce and make a mockery of the rural folks.

I have said before and I'll say this again: "There was a time when the chiefs could be trusted but that time has long since gone".

The sad thing (and my prediction)... in 2012 - we will see a different set of faces but exactly the same agendas. Future PNG politicians are just waiting for their turn to get hold of the goose that laid the golden egg.

Warm regards from Goroka,

R
