Fulbright scholarship opens for keen locals‏

The United States Embassy has announced the annual for Fulbright scholarships competition for graduate studies in the US. Applications are invited from citizens of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. The Fulbright programme is the US government’s international educational exchange programme where more than 1,800 new foreign Fulbright fellows enter the US academic programmes each year.

Many foreign Fulbright grantees are early-career professionals who return to take leadership positions in their home countries, often working at universities or in Government service. The programme preferably would consider applications for masters programmes. However, study at the PhD level will be considered if such study will result in significant long-term benefits to PNG.

Locals keen to apply for a Fulbright scholarship must have completed undergraduate education and hold a degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. All applications must be marked “Fulbright scholarship” and sent to the US Embassy, Douglas Street, PO Box 1492, NCD, Port Moresby, before May 1. The US Embassy can also be reached on 321-1455.

Or reach the US emabassy at: American Embassy Douglas Street Port Moresby, N.C.D PAPUA NEW GUINEA http://portmoresby.usembassy.gov Email: png@state.gov Switchboard Tel: (675) 321-1455 (8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri)
