Options for alternations for Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea's National Parliament - any body's dream to get there to represent his/her people for five years. How well these so called Members of Parliament represent their electorates is determined by how much he/she delivers to his/her people in terms of development. Papua New Guinea will go to the polls again in 2012

Below are some conversations all elite Papua New Guineans worldwide had via email or through blogs that we thought it's vital for Papua New Guinea to adopt for her people to see a little bit of change in the government system and the delivery of goods and services to the people.

All views expressed below are from like-minded Papua New Guineans who are working or studying overseas that feel the pinch of the performance of the current government. Please, relay the message far and wide so that the people of Papua New Guinea needed to be kept abreast of the latest political developments in Papua New Guinea so that they can make careful decisions come 2012.

We have at least voiced out our views in one way or the other in a very frustrated and dismayed manner. That’s great as concerned citizens of our nation. I personally would like to commend you for that. And am pretty sure nobody is satisfied with the current government’s conduct of office for the last couple of years. Now as two of our brothers have expressed concerned for our suggestions on how we can go about alleviating the issues of scandals, corruption, and undermining of the constitution of the independent state of Papua New Guinea.

First, to remove the current government into power again in 2012 is to campaign against any National Alliance candidate. Just do some in-depth research and see who is from NA and delete him totally from your district or province if he is from NA party. Those taxpayers who are crying for the basic services are sometimes ironically seem to be stubborn and they don’t appear to put into consideration the suffering they endure after the election period.

They chase for K2 like a fly looks for waste, and once it finds it and sits on it others follow suit. Brothers it’s now become our responsibility to educate and tell them the importance of being wise with their votes and not to look for K2 with that precious vote because just the single voice makes a difference in the parliament.

We are our respective community’s elites who can impact and influence the crowd who is like sheep without a captain in the ocean. Brothers lets don’t wait until 2012, let’s start campaign against NA now. We can invent the future today only if we want to be innovative and be precautions ahead of schedule.

Secondly, if we are really planning for the change in Papua New Guinea, we need to creative and think outside of the box. Papua New Guinea need to create an “Anti-Corruption Unit”. That will be like NIO. In such an infant developing countries like PNG, people seem to be ignorant and become blockages against Papua New Guinea adapting to the changing environment.

If some of these guys are stubborn and still insist to occupy the offices lets just man handle them and get them off from the seats. If in the countries like Guinea Bissau in Africa, Present was assassinated by a defense force in the beginning of this year because of his corrupt practices and dictatorship against the CHANGE of Guinea Bissau, why don’t we do it for Papua New Guinea? Brothers! Enough is Enough! Now we are coming to a time where our constitution is overlooked by the leaders of the parliament.

We need some lawyers in the parliament like Powes Parkop. We need immediate amendments on our constitutions and exaggerate the levels of penalties for the certain existing laws. Leaders seem to pay some fines and they are in the spree of scandals and corruption. Those must be dealt good and proper so that they too must dish penalties for their offences as the local boy charged and put into prison for break-in enters.

Finally, let’s see the changes happening under Obama administration in the US. Because he is a lawyer, he is working 24/7 to amend certain existing laws and reviving the constitution system of the US. Look at China, for instance, since President Hu Jin Tao is an engineer by profession, he declared his period of office in the President’s seat as “construction period” and now you can see that construction is everywhere in China and China’s development is very fast. If we can try our very best to host a nationwide.
