Pointless Wars
By Lapieh Landu*
One world alienated
Into poles apart
Land and sea
Hatred and love
‘Men and women;'
Species - one
Minds comparable
Physique unlike
Yet aptitudes equivalent
Why now do we detach ourselves?
Compare, contrast, evaluate
Who is superior, who is stronger?
Whose intellect substantiates?
Pointless it all seems
For the peak of origins
Are yet to science indefinite
As men’s origins are of the womb
Biblically, women- a rib from his side
Persist, quarrel, and battle
But ‘equality’ murders all questions
Quenches all prejudice, hatred and biasness
For in the eyes of God, the spring of all
Indistinguishable we linger
Only when we experience a reduction by the contrary
Acceptance becomes our stepping stone
Landu is a student at the Divine Word University, Madang, Papua New Guinea*
