Chinese migrants face Papua New Guinea wrath
Papua New Guinea (PNG) has long relied on foreign mining companies for its economic development. But a new state-owned Chinese mine is causing controversy over its operations. An influx of mainland Chinese origin into Papua New Guinea is a concern to many Papua New Guineans.
Michael Thomas Somare (left), the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea had given an in depth interview to AlJazeera News Network and explains why Papua New Guinea needs Chinese investment as well as providing motives on why small businesses run by Chinese are not left to run by Papua New Guineans.
The two part interview can be viewed on YouTube by clicking here. I would welcome your thoughts and comments.
