Too much politics in PNG
Alotau MP’s call timely on funds
I share the same sentiments with Alotau Open MP Isaac Taitibe’s comments regarding “dirty politics”.
It is evident that only MPs who are in government get first priority to have their projects funded even though they don’t have proper proposals. The scenario here depicts a gloomy image for the development of our nation.
Furthermore, it sends a signal to the 5.4 million people of Papua New Guinea that the Parliament is not equally represented but only by power hungry MPs with selfish motives to quench their thirst.
The common phrase, “you come and join me or else . . .” becomes synonymous in PNG politics and it is difficult to contain and find strategies to minimise unless those in government and opposition work in collaboration for the betterment of the people of PNG.
Now, I keep on asking, when are we going to be guilty of our mistakes for the sake of our young nation to prosper? I ponder for answers but I can’t find them anywhere but in every thinking and responsible citizen of PNG.
If we can distribute our scarce resources and wealth evenly among our people across the nation, I think PNG should be on the right track to recovery and ultimately to prosperity.
