Feedback on my blog from DWU, Madang, PNG

Dear David

Its Friday 1st, 7am in Madang (PNG) when I recieved your email and i am so happy that you replied my email. A bit on myself and family background. You know...politics in the highlands is so aggressive and nepotism is always practical. My dad used to be a high school teacher (headmaster) but he was demoted from his position since 2000 by the Enga Provincial government. He is now paid from a base level which he sometimes finds it hard to pay for our fees or to put put in the house . Actually, my parents divorced in 1997 and mum stays back in the village. She looks after chicken for sales and does some garden work to look after the little kids, sometimes pays for our school fees and other neccessities such books, caculators, provides bus fares, etc. I am the first born of seven-only boys.
This year(2008) was a very touch year for me as I had to look for school fees to help myself. My second born brother was selected to go to Hagen Technical Colledge but withdrew becase of school fees. I havent heard about the rest of my brothers yet, probably doing nothing in the village. I ended up in DWU with only half of my fees telling them I would pay the rest by the end of March. I still didnt pay up untill now, though i recieved warning letters from the authorities.I couldnt do anything..the only thing I wanted to do was to withdraw because most of my friends who were in the same boat, started withdrawing. As for me, I am not sure yet.
So you can imagine how complecated my life is...i mean.. a poverty life a American would rather say. I have always had this dream of furthering my studies abroad but I felt I was crippled on the way because of the above problem. However, when i saw you blog and the comments you made on the National, it enlightened me and gave back my courage. Many thanks to you David.
So, you can see that i do not have a private sponsor. However, I can always manage to look for this sponshorship if ever my application on scholarchip is approved. But how do i make them approve my scholarship is a question and i would like to depend on you for that.
By the way, I am a catholic. I am not sure if there are catholic Universities, but the big thing is i wanted to get in there. I am counting on you and pray that the Good Lord will open doors for me.

Here I am attaching a photo taken recently. This photo was taken while I was leading DWU students in a peaceful protest march in Madang town about the Indonesian Border Incursion last week Saturday. I am inj marron shirt and long blue jean with a stockman. It appeared on the front page of the national on Monday.

Thats all and I am looking forward for your replyment soon
