Western Highlands Province Governor
Western Highlands Province Governor, Tom Olga was a former student of mine at Kombolopa High School in the Mul/Baiyer District of WHP. I could recall he was a simple guy who didn't talk too much and was open to talk to and easily approachable. We use to call ourselves "Kela Mate" (friend) in those days among some of the guys who attended Kombolopa between 1988 - 2001. Among them were Philip Kerua, David Onga, and Tom Olg among others.
After four years at Kombolopa High School, we went in different directions and I learnt after 20 or so years that Olga was elected last year as the governor of WHP. I've not met him yet but I hope to do so some day. I hope he is doing well serving the WHP and PNG. Congratulations to Mr. Olga on your election as the governor of WHP. Go Kela Mate!

Governor being your school mate does not matter. I know you are the man of your principle. Now, I am not sure Tom Olga is doing his job or the media report coming out from Hagen is correct. Olga has suffered as a student, he knows the plea of the people, and I would hope that he brings himself down and serve the people. Then only he will be a young leader.
His immediate obligation-work with all open members for collective ideas. If possible then engage Pias Wingi given he has vast experience. He has good idea, but must make it work by making himself flexible to his rivals.
Hagen is getting a lot of spot light in the media and it is not good, given the fact that Hagen is the third city in PNG.
I know Olga is a young leader and needs our support, but importantly, he must make him selve available for our help.
I wish that he also consider building network of PNG students overseas seeking our advise. Me being in China, I think I can recommend a lot of things for him.
